GATIM Language Service | Privacy Statement
GATIM Language Services (hereafter; GATIM) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data as a Customer, Freelance Linguist, General Language Assistant and/or Business Partner (hereafter; Partner). You can access most pages of our website without having to submit any personal data. For certain transactions and/or registration, however, we require personal details in order to provide you with the requested service or job. This document explains how this data is captured and used by GATIM. The data protection policy laid down here applies to all online and offline content, products and services by GATIM. Please read the entire data protection statement of GATIM.
A. Collection of your personal data
No personal data is collected, unless we explicitly ask you to submit certain (personal) data, if this is required for identification or contact purposes. Generally, this information is only requested upon electronic registration, e.g. when you subscribe to an e-mail newsletter or when requesting a price quotation. Similarly, we need your details if you wish to participate in events and training sessions, or if you purchase a GATIM service or register as a user. In most cases, GATIM collects only basic contact data such as your name, e-mail address and/or telephone number. For registrations of Freelance Partners, General Language Assistants & Business Partners, however, we might require other details.
Example: you want to request a service or wish to register as a Partner. In this case, we need some personal data, e.g. your name, address, telephone number and payment information, in order to issue a correct quotes and invoice, deliver services or process outgoing payments. In such cases, you might be requested to register electronically. These registration details are saved together with other data submitted that you might have submitted at a previous visit to our website.
GATIM also collects certain data and information such as the IP address, browser, operating system, domain name, access times and references to other websites. This data is used for quality assurance purposes and the generation of general statistics regarding visits to our website(s).
B. How we use your information
Your personal data enables us to:
- Ensure that our website meets your wishes
- Provide you with services and information (newsletter, events, training) you have explicitly asked for or purchased
- Compile and publish content that is of special relevance to you
- Inform you of available service updates, special offers, etc., provided you wish to receive such information
- Give you access to restricted sections of our website
From time to time, we outsource certain services etc. to third parties. Such services include language services, pay rolling, delivery, answering of customer queries regarding our services, and the handling of projects. In such cases, we provide the partner company only with the data it needs to provide the agreed service. The use of this data for any other purposes is explicitly prohibited under the freelance relationship with GATIM.
GATIM reserves the right to disclose your personal data to third parties, if this is (legally) required for one of the following reasons:
(a) Compliance with legal obligations or warding off of claims made against GATIM,
(b) Protection of the property rights of GATIM in connection with all GATIM websites and
(c) urgent measures to be taken in order to protect the personal safety of GATIM employees, customers and/or freelance partners.
Your data may be stored in The Netherlands or a country where GATIM, or any of its affiliated companies and/or websites, subsidiaries or agents has registered offices. By visiting our websites, you accept that your data may be transferred across country boarders under legal conditions.
C. Protection of your personal data
With the exception of the cases stated above, GATIM shall not make information submitted by you upon registration, etc. available to a third party without your explicit consent. The data is used exclusively for the above purposes under A & B.
D. Security of your data
GATIM is committed to protecting your personal data. For this reason, we use a number of different security technologies and procedures to safeguard the information against unauthorized access, misuse or unlawful publication. Your information is for example stored only on servers at protected sites, whereby only a few employees have access to the data. We use (general) encryption methods when collecting or transferring your information.
E. Cookies
When you visit our website, cookies (temporary internet information) are saved on your computer (provided that cookies are enabled). When you visit our website again, this cookie is read. Cookies are primarily used for the compilation of statistical reports regarding visits to our website.
F. Changes to this statement
GATIM reserves the right to update the terms of its data protection statement from time to time. The date at the top of the document indicates the revision date of the statement. In the event of substantial changes to this statement, GATIM shall incorporate a prominent notification to this fact on its website.
